How do period pants work?
Built-in
Our leak-free underwear has been designed to look and feel like regular underwear (well, better), but absorb up to 40ml of liquid in less than 3 seconds. Whether you're looking for protection from periods, incontinence, or any other leaks, we've got you covered.
Period pants can absorb just as much liquid (often more!) than disposable products like pads and tampons, without the discomfort or environmental impact that these options can come along with. Period pants allow you to manage your period effortlessly.
All of our leak-free products feature our reliable built-in tech, to keep you worry-free, all day long. Here's how the inner layers of our period pants work:
Top layer quickly wicks moisture away from the body, keeping you fresh and dry.
Absorbent middle layer locks in liquid.
Breathable bottom barrier is 100% waterproof to prevent leakage.

Some people prefer to pair their period pants with a menstrual cup, but this isn't necessary. The highly absorbent middle layers and protective outer barrier included in fluxies underwear are all the protection you need, and can empower you to ditch disposable period products for good!

Fluxies period pants and leak-free underwear can last up to 3 years and be washed up to 72 times. Simply rinse them in cold water (though you can skip this step if you're in a hurry), wash at no higher than 40°C with mild detergent and allow your period pants to air dry.
Avoid washing your period pants with bleach, fabric softener, at high temperatures, or drying with a tumble dryer, as this can damage the absorbent inner layers and affect their performance.

Period pants don't smell, as long as they are worn for the recommended time, you've chosen the right absorbency for your flow, and are washing them correctly between wears.
Fluxies period pants have a moisture-wicking top layer, a super absorbent middle layer, which traps blood, and a protective outer layer which prevents leaks or stains. These three layers working together not only prevent leakages, but also prevent any smells.

Our period pants, incontinence pants, and other reusable products eacch come with guidance on how long they should be worn for, and whether they are suitable for light, moderate, or heavy flow. If you follow the guidance, you will be changing your period pants before they are full.
However, a good indication of your period pants or leak-free underwear becoming full is if you start to notice any blood or liquid at the seams. This is a good time to change them. If you ever find that you begin to feel dampness while wearing them, or they're becoming fuller faster, you might want to look at getting a higher-absorbency pair.
